Tatcha Water Cream is a rice-ferment gel cream. Purito is the water-job match, not the same formula.
Tatcha The Water Cream puts Saccharomyces/rice Ferment Filtrate directly after water. Purito Hydro Wave Deep Sea Cream puts Sea Water (60%) first, while Laneige Water Bank starts with glycerin, butylene glycol and squalane. They can all fill a lightweight hydration step. The ingredient lists do not say they are twins.

Tatcha recommends the cream for combination to oily skin and describes it as lightweight, hydrating and smoothing. The current US INCI is unusually useful for this comparison: the rice ferment is second, not a tiny rice extract near the bottom. The formula also contains mica and fragrance-related names, so “water cream” does not mean fragrance-free or an unadorned gel.
The brand says it is formulated without synthetic fragrances, while the published INCI includes parfum/fragrance, limonene, linalool and citral. We report the list rather than turning that wording into a “fragrance-free” label.
There is no formula match here
A formula match would need the same lead ferment class in a comparable gel cream. Purito’s official list starts with sea water and Laneige’s starts with glycerin, butylene glycol and squalane. Laneige does include Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate later in its INCI; that is not the same named ingredient as Tatcha’s Saccharomyces/rice Ferment Filtrate. Shared hydration language, ferment vocabulary or a rice-adjacent story is not enough.

Purito Hydro Wave Deep Sea Cream
Purito’s current name is Hydro Wave Deep Sea Cream. The official FAQ says it is the upgraded name and packaging for the former Deep Sea Pure Water Cream, with the formula maintained. Its official INCI starts with Sea Water (60%), dipropylene glycol, glycerin, water, emollients and niacinamide. There is no Tatcha-style rice ferment filtrate.
This is the better job match if the request means a lightweight, non-greasy cream for oily or combination skin. Purito describes it as a hydration seal, says it layers under sunscreen and makeup, and calls the finish a satin-like gel cream with a dewy, oil-free finish. The official page lists 50 ml at $21 and says the product is made in Korea.

Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturizer
Laneige’s 50 ml cream is a different lane: water, glycerin, butylene glycol and squalane lead the INCI, with ceramide NP, panthenol, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid and a later Lactobacillus ferment lysate. The brand positions it around Blue Hyaluronic Acid, ceramide and squalane, with barrier-boosting hydration for normal to dry skin. It is a hydration job match, not a Tatcha ingredient match.
Laneige’s US page showed $38 for 50 ml when checked. That is still cheaper than Tatcha’s $74, but the more important difference is the skin-feel brief: Laneige is the richer barrier option; Purito is the lighter, oil-free option.

Purito and Laneige may be sensible lower-price choices for the same moisturizer step, but we are not claiming the same texture, pore result, scent, wear under makeup or skin response. This is not the same question as Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream, which is a richer rice-ferment cream with a different product brief. Check the package in your market because cosmetic lists and names change.
